About Star

There were several pivotal events in Star's history. Star was incorporated in 1905, as reported on the city’s official website. However, it was the development of the Interurban Railway which led to the most substantial growth in Star. This electric railroad was completed in 1907 and ran from Boise to Caldwell through Eagle, Star, and Middleton before returning through Nampa and Meridian. The railroad brought electricity and development to Star before disappearing with the emergence of automobiles. Remnants of Star’s history, such as the Oregon Trail, are still visible in this rapidly growing city.

Star Attractions

Star has various amenities and attractions. Hunter’s Creek Sports Complex sits on 18.04 acres and features sports fields for adult and youth baseball, soccer, football, the Tom Erlebach Skakepark, and picnic areas. This sports field also draws residents for the city’s annual firework show. The Star Riverwalk Park is a picturesque 4.76-acre park that winds along the Boise River. This scenic nature trail entices visitors to relax on the path’s many benches, fish on the river’s banks, or picnic in one of the open areas.
